Thursday, 20 January 2022:
The airfield is open again to all traffic from 15/01/2022 but due to the recent bad weather the manoeuvring areas are slippery and the ground is soft in places. Therefore the airfield is suitable for aircraft with light wheel loadings only (Piper Cubs and Tiger Moths for example). There are areas of standing water and softer muddy patches which should naturally be avoided. Some of the taxiway hold lines are sunken and should be crossed with great care.
Please note runway 02/20 is temporarily reduced in length to approx. 500m. The old College Road crossing the main runway is being removed and therefore the area up to 6m either side and to the south of the old road is not available for manoeuvring. Ditches, soft/uneven ground and cones will be present in this area until sometime (TBN) in Spring 2022.
